Matrix Oleochem Sdn Bhd was established to conduct research in and manufacture speciality oleochemicals (chemicals derived from palm oil), tapping in to the abundant source of raw materials common to Malaysia. Its wide range of formulated products are widely used in the textile, printing, plastics, detergents and food chemical industries.

Matrix Oleochem’s current product list includes CDE (Coco-diethanolamide), fatty amides and formulated detergent products, the bulk of which are manufactures for international consumption.

The production of food emulsifiers like glyceryl monostearate and sorbitan esters is synergistic with the food flavours business of the Group.

The plastics industry uses oleochemicals as lubricants/ plasticizers: glyceryl monostearate, ethylene bis stearamide etc…

The cosmetics industry uses glyceryl and polyglycol esters in the preparation of fine emulsions.

Quaternary ammonium compounds and betaines made for palm oil fatty acid derivatives are useful as biocides, fabric softheners and hair conditioners.
